My DIY Chalkboard has quickly become one of my favorite ways to update my walls while not breaking the budget. I currently have mine next to my whiskey bar as a menu of whiskey cocktails! It’s fun and easy to change out based on the seasons or holidays and come up with fun drink ideas. The best part about the chalkboards is that they are supposed to be fun! You don’t have to worry about making them perfect.

The chalkboards I use are from Hobby Lobby. I wait until they are 50% off to buy them and they are around 40 dollars. So much cheaper than popping into home goods every time I get a wild hair to redecorate. The chalk pens I use are called Bistro Chalk Marker and can be found at most craft stores. The chalk marker was the key as to why my chalkboards were not turning out when I first started. I was using regular chalk and pulling my hair out wondering how these Pinterest DIY’ers were getting their lines so sharp! So a face palm later and one stroke of that chalk pen, I was in business.

These chalkboards do not reflect my everyday writing style, as I have the worst every day handwriting ever, so I truly believe everyone can make these. I hope I’ve helped with some chalkboard inspo! Any questions please feel free to holler at me!! If you’re short on inspiration be sure to checkout and follow my Pinterest board I created that includes some of my fave tutorials, font ideas, and printouts!
Okay. I am ready to chalk board. I did some on a mirror but my bar needs some love. Thanks girl for writing this. Yep, I read it while doing cardio this am. It was great.
